It may be time to rethink everything you've ever learned about how to succeed in your professional life. I love short sharp blogs not long wordy stuff as who has time to listen to people rambling on! Top tips: 1) Doing something is better than doing nothing, ask yourself whats that worst thing that can happen? Senario there's a potential customer, could be a big deal whats stopping you just picking the phone up? We all worry how we'll be received who knows they may just be having a bad day, be busy having their boss moaning about a report or they might pick up the phone and say hell you are the answer to my problem! So whats the worst thing that can happen? The deal might take a bit longer or you may just get it and to just that NIKE cliche 'just do it!'. 2) Complete 2 things off your todo list every day, great for the psyche it then feels like you're achieving something. Nothing worse than the todo list being never ending. Just remember there will always be something to do DON'T BEAT YOURSELF UP! 3) Do something you love each day, I am the worst at letting this one slide, but its important, you started a business for lots of reasons and one reason to do something you love is to ensure you remain in love with your business because when it becomes a chore you might as well have a job and let someone else worry. 4) Marketing rarely has overnight success, golden old rule lost in today's social media scene is a customer needs to see your brand 3 times before they are likely to buy from you. So do a little every day, doesn't matter what it is! 5) Donald Trump wrote his autobiography years before becoming president it was large print aka 5 year old, a bit cheesy, egotistical and shameless self promotion all of which have served him well. I read this and something has stuck with me, he said that his real success was that he tried to do a deal a day. Yes he sold something every day, and I have tried the same it is a seriously difficult thing to do amongst everything you have to do in your life running a business. Take it at a super simple level lets say your business is selling cars, sell one every other day and that's just over 180 per year, one every day is 365 a year it is that simple. the point here is that most businesses don't sell enough units and it doesn't matter whether its widgets or your time.(but remember that there is only one of you) if you're not selling something you're going backwards! 6) Keep one eye on the future, what do you want and where do you want to go or be, if your business is not doing this or does not have the ability to do it do something else!
